Safeguarding Policy

At Sam West Football Development, the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of every child we coach is our top priority. We are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all players.

Our Safeguarding Commitment
  • Children’s safety always comes first in everything we do.

  • We promote respect, inclusion, and fair play.

  • All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and handled appropriately.

  • We work closely with parents, schools, and local safeguarding authorities.

Safe Coaching Practices
  • All sessions follow strict supervision and child-to-coach ratios.

  • A register and emergency contact information are kept for every session.

  • Children are never left alone one-to-one out of sight of others.

  • Our coach is fully FA First Aid trained, Enhanced DBS checked, Insured and FA Safeguarding trained.

Partnership with Schools

When delivering sessions in schools, Sam West (Owner & Head Coach) acts as the safeguarding lead for SW Football Development activities, while the school’s safeguarding lead remains responsible for the wider school environment. We always cooperate fully with school policies and safeguarding teams.

Reporting Concerns

If any safeguarding concerns arise, they are dealt with promptly and reported in line with both our own and the host school’s procedures. In urgent cases, appropriate authorities are contacted immediately.

Ongoing Commitment

Our safeguarding policy is reviewed annually to ensure it meets current legislation and best practice standards.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, please get in contact at our email: samwestfootballdevelopment@gmail.com
